Tia M. Bach, LCSW
Hello and thank you for taking the first step in considering your mental health care needs by exploring this site. I know that speaking to someone about your thoughts, emotions or problems can be intimidating so I hope reading this will help alleviate some fears or questions you may have about therapy and who I am.
I am a graduate of Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, VA and received my Master’s of Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused Therapy (TF-CBT). Both methods focus on changing around problematic thought patterns that have a negative impact on how we feel and behave. I spent several years serving child victims of abuse at a local child advocacy center in Northern Virginia where I received my training and certification in delivering trauma informed services. I have provided lectures and workshops to my community on anti-bullying strategies and how to keep our kids safe from predators. I have experience and the privilege to have worked in palliative care and with hospice clients and their families. Some other areas of specialty include: anxiety, depression, grief, anger management, major life transitions and issues unique to the GLBTQ community.
I strive to give each individual client, couple or family that I serve a safe place to explore and work through their issues using a compassionate, holistic framework. I believe each case is unique and deserves an approach that is tailored to that uniqueness. I want every client to have a positive experience and realize the power and healing that results from therapy. Please know that I truly look forward to meeting you and starting the journey together if you decide to take that next step.
Best Regards,
-Tia
